Alfa TCR USA finishes 4th in their first Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) race in the Alfa Giulietta TCR. The Grand Prix of Texas is held on the 3.427-mile, 20-turn Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The team led by Tim Munday with Martin Jensen as driver qualified 4th after being 2nd quickest in Friday's practice. A change in the BOP rules will give Alfa TCR USA a 10% performance gain in today's Round 2 race which should put them in the mix for the lead.
- The qualifying was good under these circumstances as we got caught out a bit on the BOP. There was a really late change in the BOP which we didn't spot, so it was our own fault running the race at 90% when everyone else was at full power.
- In reality, we are happy getting 4th with an underperforming car, but yet we are so disappointed that we didn't get to show the full potential. We know that the BOP difference does cost a lot of time - in the preseason tests at Daytona, 10 percent on the BOP is worth around 1.5 seconds. This is not Daytona, but we are very determined to show what we are capable of today. We can't wait!
Today's Round 2 is a 40-minute race will take place at 1:25 p.m. EDT.
