The team led by Tim Munday with Martin Jensen as driver qualified 4th after being 2nd quickest in Friday's practice. A change in the BOP rules will give Alfa TCR USA a 10% performance gain in today's Round 2 race which should put them in the mix for the lead.

COTA Preview

Alfa TCR USA is all set for their first Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) race in the Alfa Giulietta TCR. The Grand Prix of Texas is held on the 3.427-mile, 20-turn Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The team led by Tim Munday with Martin Jensen as driver posted an impressive time of 2:19.922 (87.02 mph) which puts it second in the new TCR class.

The Alfa TCR USA team had a private test at Palm Beach International Raceway. Several drivers show up to test the car including Shane Lewis. Shane Lewis is the Pro for the Palm Beach Driving Club at PBIR and was able to give valuable feedback on the car and track. The test was Shane's first time in the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR.

Shane Lewis:
Man, this TCR Alfa is super fun. I have to tell you it is a front wheel drive racecar. Usually the two don't go together...'front wheel drive' and 'racecar'. This one it goes together. It is super fun. No torque steer. It is massive fun. This car will be super sucessful, I mean super sucessful.

The next race for the Alfa TCR is the Pirelli World Challenge race at Circuit Of The Americas on March 23, 2018.
